Lancaster Township is a rural, yet growing residential community located in southwestern Butler County, Pennsylvania encompassing nearly 14,000 acres.
While settled by pioneer settlers in 1796, Lancaster Township was not officially founded and incorporated until 1854. The municipality is comprised of approximately 37 square miles of land situated along the Route 19 (Perry Highway) corridor. The 2010 Census projected a population of 2,532.

The Lancaster Township Board of Supervisors will hold its next Regular Business meeting on
Board of Supervisors Meeting
Per Article VI Section 603 of the Township Code, Lancaster Township holds its monthly meetings on the third Monday of each month.
The meetings are open to the public and will be held at the Lancaster Township Community Center, 113 Kings Alley, Harmony, PA 16037.
The purpose of the monthly meeting is to address Township business and any other issues that may properly come before the Board of Supervisors.
Paper copies of the agenda, Ordinances, Resolutions, and building permit list are available to the public at the township office and will also be made available to attendees of the meeting.

Lancaster Township Comprehensive Plan
The Board of Supervisors wish to thank all those who attended the open house on July 18th. The Township has created a web site for our community to use to send comments and suggestions plus monitor the progress of the completion of the draft plan.
ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) Resources
Lancaster Township is the recipient of two payments of $145,000 each from the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF), a part of the American Rescue Plan Act.
The Township must spend the funds in accordance with the US Treasury’s Final Rule (see link below). The funds must be used for costs incurred on or after March 3, 2021 and must be obligated by December 31, 2024 and spent by December 31, 2026. For more information click on the links below:
Office Schedule
Lancaster Township administrative offices are open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
The offices are closed Monday and Friday and office staff are available by appointment only.
The Police Department is staffed 24 hours per day and officers are available 7 days per week.
